Strange Focus

This currently is the wallpaper on my computer!  I just love this photo and thought everyone else would enjoy it also!  This is tricky birdQUIZ photo because of the focus but its field marks needed are all visual!

Another Raptor ID

I had this wonderful hawk flying around yesterday with the blowing snow.  I wanted to try and get a picture but was just too snowy for anything to turn out.   I almost thew this picture out but at the last second thought this would make a wonderful bird quiz picture!!   This I would consider an easy raptor ID!!   I thought everyone could use an easy one right now!

Bird Song Quiz

Ok, taking this birdQUIZ blog to a new level! I finally figured out how to add birdsongs to the blog. Hope it works without any problems!! If there are problems with the player, let me know and I will try to fix it!!

This is a commonly heard bird song across North America! These birds have a very high pitched buzzy like song and one which I always have to stop to think about each spring. I thought it would be a good song to start with but still keep it from being what I would consider evil! Good luck and please feel free to use any resource that you have in identifying this song!

Bird Songs are done by the males to communicate with their mate! I thought this would be a wonderful way to celebrate Valentines Day!

Hard birdQUIZ

This evening I found a little time to upload the next bird QUIZ picture. Be sure to use as many references as you have because its another evil quiz!! This bird was photographed in New York State and isn’t any kind of hybrid. I will tell you that it is in its juvenal plumage and doesn’t look anything like its parents.

By request for a raptor quiz, I decided to post these pictures from a bird that I banded back in the summer of 2005 here in Allegany State Park. Be sure to focus on the markings on its tail and belly.
